Our story
Built by engineers who got tired of reinventing retrieval
Kognita started as an internal tool. We were building an AI-powered product and spent more time fighting retrieval infrastructure than building the actual product. Vector databases, chunking logic, re-ranking, hybrid search — all custom, all fragile.
After the third time rebuilding the same pipeline at a different company, we decided the problem was worth solving properly. Kognita is that solution — built in the open, for the people who know exactly how painful the alternative is.
